Never any Kryptonite around when you need it
I've been reading a lot of comic books lately. Justice League trade paperbacks, mostly, and last night I re-read Kingdom Come. I went to bed hoping to have superhero dreams. Instead of flying, as I have occasionally done in dreams, I was on the JLA Watchtower doing a kakuro puzzle with Superman. Actually, we were arguing about a kakuro puzzle. He kept trying to put a two where I knew a three had to go.

"No," I told him. "The across clue is four. It's got to be a one in the left box, and a three in the other."

"I'm sure it's a two," Superman said, in a voice that sounded like a young Gregory Peck. "Wisdom of Solomon, remember?"

"That's Captain Marvel."

Superman looked at me. "What's Captain Marvel?"

"Captain Marvel has the Wisdom of Solomon. Not you."

"Fine. Maybe I don't have the wisdom of Solomon. You know what I DO have?"

"What?"

"Heat vision."

And, since I lacked the Power of Zeus, Strength of Hercules, or even the Stamina of Atlas, I said, "Two it is, then.

Oh, wow. That is the best dream ever!

Why can't I dream about Superman instead of my kung fu brothers trying to talk me into getting married?
